Ursinus Athletics Announces Staff Updates

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus College has announced some restructuring changes within the athletic department. Sam Campo will now assume the role of Athletic Operations Equipment Manager and Cecily Scavicchio will now also serve Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women Administrator in addition to her duties as Head Volleyball Coach.

Campo will begin working in the Athletic Operations department effective July 6th. She has spent the last 10 years as the Bears head softball coach. She compiled a record of 135-171-1 during her time as head coach at Ursinus and led the team to a berth in the Centennial Conference Tournament during the 2019 season. During her coaching career in the Centennial Conference, Campo has also seen her student-athletes excel in the classroom with five earning Academic All-District honors and one being named an Academic All-American.

"We are very excited for Sam to join the Athletic Ops team because she will bring a coach's perspective, her positive attitude, and utilize her knowledge of Ursinus and the athletic department, Athletic Director Erin Stroble said. "She will be able to hit the ground running to work efficiently with Tim Litz and Kip Lacy as the equipment manager."

Scavicchio will take on two new roles as Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women Administrator effective immediately. She will work alongside with Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Student Athlete Services, Marqus Hunter, as a student-athlete programming assistant and will handle the schedule coordinating within the department. Scavicchio will also serve as a liaison to CESP in scheduling athletic spaces.

"Cecily has been a tremendous ambassador for Ursinus Athletics in her time in Collegeville," Stroble added. "I'm eager to see her continue to provide a tremendous experience for our student-athletes in her expanded roles."

Scavicchio has spent the last four seasons as the head coach of the Ursinus Volleyball team. Her teams have earned AVCA Academic Team honors in all four seasons and she coached Katie Cressman to All-Centennial honors this past fall.
