Erin Saybolt Receives Olive Sargeant Hamm Award

Field hockey senior Erin Saybolt was chosen as the recipient of the Olive Sargeant Hamm Award as part of Ursinus' Athletic Awards Week.

The Olive Sargeant Hamm Award is presented as an all-around prize for a senior woman who exemplifies "the best in college life – athletically, socially, and scholastically."

Saybolt enjoyed a terrific career with the perennial powerhouse field hockey program. After collecting rookie of the year honors in 2016, she went on to earn All-Centennial Conference honors each of the succeeding three seasons, including a first-team nod in 2018. A two-year captain and four-year starter, Saybolt garnered first team All-South Region honors from the NFHCA as a junior. She finished her career with 31 goals and 15 assists.

Majoring in Biology with minors in philosophy and politics, Saybolt maintains a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average and was a two-time Academic All-Centennial recipient – an award reserved for student-athletes who make their respective all-conference teams and qualify for the Academic Honor Roll. She was a four-year member of the NFHCA's National Academic Squad and was named to the CC All-Sportsmanship Team in 2017.

Also a leader on campus, Saybolt balances her extensive athletic responsibilities with a job in the admissions office. She earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester.
