Gundersen Garners CollegeSwimming Weekly Award

CollegeSwimming Release

For the third week in a row, the Ursinus College has produced CollegeSwimming's Centennial Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week.

This time it was senior Sydney Gundersen claiming the honor, joining senior Meggie Leitz and freshman Sophie May as Bear swimmers to have won the award in the last three weeks.

Gundersen was a force in Saturday's CC rout at Franklin & Marshall, tallying two individual wins and taking part in a relay victory as Ursinus rolled to a 173-89 triumph. Gundersen captured first place in the 50 free (25.22) and 500 free (5:18.66) before swimming the first leg of the 400 free relay (3:43.80).

Gundersen has enjoyed a sensational senior season. She currently leads the CC in the 200 free (1:54.58) while ranking second in the 100 free (52.85), third in the 50 free (24.57), fourth in the 100 breast (1:07.81), and fifth in the 200 IM (2:13.88).
