Rotman, Hunt Rise up CC Charts

BOSTON, MASS. – A select group of Ursinus College women's track and field athletes stacked up PRs and added a couple of top-end Centennial Conference marks for good measure in a feel-good performance at Boston University's Valentine Invitational.

Jill Rotman ran the fastest time in the 800 this season, clocking in at a sizzling 2:22.88 to lead a caravan of new personal bests for a healthy mid-distance contingent. Every Ursinus participant logged a PR on the banked track; Mary Zukus moved just outside the top-10 on the CC performance list with a 2:27.43, more than seven seconds clear of her former best, and Neve Durrwachter logged a nearly 10-second PR with a 2:28.94.

Katherine Moore turned in a mark of 2:30.81 and was followed by Meredith Steele (2:35.37), Lauren Ferguson (2:36.14), and Alyson Manley (2:46.10).

Kate Hunt notched a 26.53 in the 200-meter dash, good for second in the Centennial. Rachel Coleman checked in at 27.13 and Mer'c Van Ness earned a sizeable PR with a 27.32.

Coleman and Hunt joined Rotman and Dominique Timmons to finish the 4x400-meter relay in 4:07.65, which ranks just .26 seconds behind Johns Hopkins atop the conference charts.

Hunt also ran the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 8.15 seconds.

Rachel Conhoff (5:20.69) and Holly Chambers (5:47.00) each competed in the mile, while Isabelle Deal (38-2.75) gave it a go in the shot put.

The women's track and field team travels to Haverford for the Keogh Invitational next Saturday, February 22.
