Snyder wins Heptathlon at Centennial Track Championships

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Junior Krista Snyder won the Heptathlon on Saturday, highlighting an outstanding day for the Ursinus College Women's Track and Field team on Day two of the 2015 Centennial Conference Track and Field Championships hosted by Muhlenberg.

Snyder won the two-day event with a school record score of 3879 points. She was sitting in third after the first day and won two events on Saturday. She won the long jump and the javelin events, then held off Paige Marsh from Johns Hopkins in the 800 to take the win.

Two hours later, she came back to finish second in the long jump with a school record leap of 17-3.5, a record that had been set back in 1990.

Senior Emilia Perry won the women's steeplechase with a time of 11:09, currently 28th in Division III. She bettered her personal record by 20 seconds.

Kimberly Snow placed fifth in the high jump with a leap of just over five feet, the first time she had cleared that height.

With Sunday being primarily a finals day, several Ursinus runners have top spots after Saturday's preliminaries.

Erin Farrell and Chloe Johnson-Hyde both ran under 13 in the 100 for the first time in their careers, and will advance to the finals. In the 200, Farrell and Johnson-Hyde and Kristen Prijs also ran their personal best, with Farrell clocking a 25.9.

In the 400, Prijs set a personal record with a time of 59.1. Catherine Buczek advanced to the 400 hurdles finals as well.

In the 800, Emily Lamb had the fastest time in the preliminaries with a time of 2:16, one second better than the school record time she set last weekend.
