Women's Track and Field competes at TCNJ, Penn Relays

With one week till Centennial Conference championships, the Ursinus College women's track and field team competed at the prestigious Penn Relays and at The College of New Jersey Invitational. Saturday's TCNJ Invitational was non-scoring.

Starting with the trip to New Jersey, the meet featured athletes from all divisions and professional runners.

In the 100 dash, Chloe Johnson-Hyde ran a 13.1, while Kristen Prijs had a personal best in the 200 at 26.9 and ran a 62.3 in the 400.

In the 800, Emily Lamb ran a personal best, finishing ninth overall with a school record time of 2:17, breaking the previous record by one second. Jenna Kelly ran a 2:32, qualifying for the Centennial Conference Championship.

In the 5k, Chelsea Nemeth had a personal best of 20:12, which was tenth overall. Alicia Baker went 20:54, which was good enough for 14th overall and  the first-time in her career going sub 21 minutes.

In the 400 hurdles, Catherine Buczek was ninth with a time of 1:07, just off her personal best.

In the Steeple, Emilia Perry won with a time of 11:29, less than a second off her personal best.

In the 4x1, Johnson-Hyde, Prijs, Buczek and Erin Farrell were second overall with a time of 51 seconds.

Competing in the lone field event, Elizabeth Cooley cleared nine feet in the pole vault clearing a height of nine feet.

At the Penn Relays, the team of Prijs, Buczek, Lamb and Elana Roadcloud were fourth in the MAC/Centennial 4x4. They were the second highest CC team to finish, behind Johns Hopkins. Lamb anchored the relay and Prijs had the fastest split at 60 seconds.

Two members of the Ursinus College women's track and field coaching staff also competed at the Penn Relays.

Associate head coach Carmen Graves won the 3k steeple with a time of 10:24. Due to being behind schedule, all three races (college, college championship and Olympic Development) were run together.

Assistant Coach Crystal Burnick ran a 16:55 in the 5k Olympic Development in preparation for the Broad Street Run.
