Women's Track and Field opens season at Danny Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's track and field team opened its outdoor portion of the schedule on Saturday at the non-scoring Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University.

In their first outdoor meet of the season, after having their home meet cancelled, the Bears turned in some good finishes despite the cold and windy weather.

On Friday night, Emeilia Perry and Chelsea Nemeth both ran qualifying times in the 10k, with Perry finishing fourth overall at 40:50 followed by Nemeth in 11th place at 42:53.

In the 100, Chloe Johnson-Hyde finished ninth with a time of 13.3, while taking 11th in the 200 at 27.0.

Erin Farrell was eighth in the 200 at 26.6 and 11th in the 100 with a time of 13.36.

Kristen Prijs finished third in the 400 at 1:02, then later ran a 27.4 in the 200.

Emily Lamb had an impressive mid-distance double, as she was ninth in a stacked 1500 with a time of 4:57 while going 11th in the 200 at 2:26.

In their first time running the 400 hurdles, Krista Snyder and Catherine Buczek finished seventh and eighth respectively at 1:12.

Danielle Grimes finished third in the Steeplechase with a time of 13:57.26.

In the field events, Elizabeth Cooley was 14th overall in the pole vault at 9-3.

Snyder jumped 16-3 in the long jump to finish sixth overall. Kimberly Snow got the conference standing and finished in the top six in the triple jump at 31-1 (tied for fifth).
