Women's Tennis Nets Academic Awards

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team was named an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), while seven of its members pulled in Scholar-Athlete honors from the organization.

The Bears were recognized as a team for the second straight season. The ITA gives All-Academic Team awards to programs with a GPA of 3.20 or higher; the Bears recorded a 3.54 team GPA during the 2020-21 academic year.

Recent graduate Madisen Harvey joined rising seniors Maddie Russell and Brenna Trkula; rising junior Ava Compagnoni; and rising sophomores Kathy Logan, Avery Samer, and Caitlin Vinsonhaler in earning Scholar-Athlete laurels, which require at least a 3.50 GPA.

Trkula is now a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, while Compagnoni and Russell were honored for the second time in their careers. All three were also recognized on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring semester.
