Women's Tennis defeats Alvernia, 6-3

READING, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team took the short trip up Route 422 to face Alvernia on Friday and returned with a 6-3 win over the Crusaders in non-conference action.

Ursinus (5-3) took two of three doubles matches to start the day as Stephanie-Jane Seabra and BreAnna Bashaw defeated Alyssa Boyd and Kristy Schwenk at number two flight, 8-0, while Audrey Whitebloom and Christina Palazzolo defeated Lillian Hussar and Rachael Eberhardt at number three flight, 8-1.

In singles action, Bashaw defeated Boyd at number two flight, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1, with Christina Cromwell defeating Hussar at number four flight, 6-0, 6-1.

Seabra defeated Schwenk at number five flight, 6-2, 6-1, while Renee Tornea defeated Eberhardt at number six flight in three sets, 6-7 (8-10), 6-1, 7-5.
