Starting Off Strong

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – In their first dual meet competition in more than a month, and the first of two back-to-back days, the Ursinus College swimming team barreled through with no problems, earning a 119-68 win over Cabrini Friday.

Two swimmers totaled 20 team points each on the night as sophomore Corinne Capodanno won the 50 free at 25.57 was part of the winning 200 medley relay team at 1:57.63. Freshman Katie Pielmeier also netted 20 points, as she won the 100 fly at 1:01.65 and was part of that winning 200 medley relay team.

Freshman Allison Emick won the 1650 free at 19:47.63, while freshman Alli Hemp won the 200 IM at 2:22.63.

Senior Malena Lair Ferrari won the 100 free at 54.70, while senior Bryn O'Neill won the 100 back at 1:04.36. Senior Molly Serfass won the 200 free at 2:03.40.

Senior Kimberly Bullock took second in the 200 free at 2:03.78, while senior Kaitlin Kirker was second in the 1650 free at 19:48.64. Junior Amanda Lucock was second in the 50 free at 26.01, while sophomore Briana Mullan was second in the 100 free at 1:00 flat.

Junior Rebecca Schroll was second in the 100 fly at 1:02.73, with freshman Cat Wilson taking second in the 200 IM at 2:25.18.

Third place finishes were earned by junior Naomi Bye at 1:01.66, sophomore Kyleigh Hamilton in the 100 fly at 1:03.94, Mullan in the 50 free at 27.02.

Junior Margo Randelman was third in the 1650 free at 20:09.03.

Pielmeier, Capodanno, Lucock and Schroll won the 200 medley relay.

Ursinus hosts York (Pa.) on Saturday.
