Women's Swimming now 3-0 after defeating Albright

READING, Pa. – Nationally-ranked Ursinus tuned up for its big meet with defending conference champion Gettysburg on Wednesday night with a 113-92 win over Albright to remain a perfect 3-0 on the year.

Ursinus, ranked 27th by CollegeSwimming, swept both relays and took first in six events on the night.

Two swimmers took first in two events as senior Malena Lair Ferrari won both the 1000 free at 10:51.27 and the 500 free at 5:17.67.

Sophomore Corinne Capodanno won the 100 butterfly at 1:00.27 and the 200 free at 1:57.33.

Freshman Alli Hemp won the 50 free at 25.49, while fellow freshman Katie Pielmeier won the 100 breast at 1:10.77.

The team of freshman Marisa Ferrari, sophomore Micaela Lyons, Capodanno and Lair Ferrari won the 200 free relay at 1:41.98. While the team of Lyons, Pielmeier, Hemp and junior Chelsea Kozior were first in the 200 medley at 1:55.82.

Lyons (50 free, 25.69), sophomore Kyleigh Hamilton (200 IM, 2:21.87), Kozior (100 free, 57.05) and Pielmeier (100 back, 1:03.66) took second on the night.

Third-place finishers were senior Bryn O'Neill in the 200 free at 2:03.93, Hamilton in the 100 fly at 1:02.65 and Ferrari in the 100 free at 57.24.
