Women's Lacrosse falls in tight game to McDaniel, 11-10

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Two goals in the final six minutes of the game lifted McDaniel (9-6, 5-3 Centennial) to an 11-10 win over Ursinus (4-10, 1-6 Centennial) in women's lacrosse play on Saturday. 

The Bears almost rallied from a four-goal deficit, scoring four straight to tie the score at 9-all before Paige Messersmith scored on a free position shot with 6:53 left to give the Green Terror a 10-9 lead. Anna Beaudry added a goal with 2:18 left for a two-goal advantage.

Ursinus was led by two goals each from Nicole Kovacs, Devin Brakel and Lauren Garganio, while Mary Deliberti, Kitty Dawson, Caroline Cannon and Kathleen McElroy each had goals. 

Brakel finished the game with a game-high six draw controls on the day for Ursinus. 

Chatburn picked up three ground balls, while goalkeeper Riley Pembroke made seven saves.

Ursinus hosts Haverford Wednesday.
