BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Ursinus scored 12 straight goals in the first half as the Bears (3-7, 1-3 Centennial) defeated Bryn Mawr (2-8, 0-5 Centennial) 18-3 on Saturday afternoon in women's lacrosse action.
A total of 11 different players scored goals for the Bears, who outshot the Owls 33-6.
Senior midfielder Taylor Egolf (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion) and freshman midfielder Devin Brakel (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro) each scored three goals, while junior attack Amber Moyer (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser), junior midfielder Caroline Cannon (Garrison, N.Y./James I. O'Neil) and senior midfielder Megan Horney (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) each had two goals in the win. Brakel also finished with three assists, with Cannon and senior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) each getting two assists.
Brakel had four ground balls, with freshman midfielder Mary Deliberti (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe) got five draw controls on the afternoon with Cannon getting four. Moyer also finished with a game-high four caused turnovers.
In goal, freshman goalkeeper Margaret Philbin (Danbury, Conn./Ridgefield) had one save.
