READING, Pa. – Ursinus scored the first seven goals on the afternoon and never looked back as the Bears (2-0) defeated Albright (2-2) 19-4 on Tuesday in women's lacrosse play.
Ursinus outshot the Lions 11-1 in the second half as they held the Lions scoreless in the final 30.
Four different players scored three goals: junior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin), junior midfielder Megan Horney (Newark, Del./St. Mark's), senior attack Kim Peifer (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) and sophomore attack Amber Moyer (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser), while freshman midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough), senior attack Emily Diehl Lebanon, N.J./Voorhees) and junior attack Lauren Garganio (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) each had two.
Diehl also picked up four assists, with Peifer and Garganio grabbing two.
In goal, freshman Alexandra Duch (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) had five saves while sophomore Riley Pembroke (Great Falls, Va./Langley) held the Lions scoreless in the second half.
Ursinus goes to Messiah on Friday.
