Men's Cross Country Garners All-Academic Team Honor

NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College men's cross country team received All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced recently.

 

The Bears were one of 137 programs across Division III to earn the honor, given to teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.1 through the most recent grading period. As a team, the Bears finished with a team GPA of 3.17. Senior Marcos Maciel was also one of 248 men to earn All-Academic Athlete status. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. Maciel finished 17th at the Metro Regional Championships.

 

Ean Chasinoff, Will Gillette, Maciel, Ed Martinez, Colin McCarty, Dylan Simms, Brandon Slaboda, Steve Wilkins, Henry Wilt, and Jesse Wun were all named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester. Three team members achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall, and Wun owns a perfect cumulative GPA as a Biology major.
