Daly Takes Title for Men's XC

LEBANON, Pa. – Giles Daly was first across the line in a field of more than 175 runners on Saturday, heading up three top-10 finishers as the Ursinus College men's cross country team took second place at the Dutchmen Invite at Union Canal Tunnel Park.

Daly traversed the 8-kilometer course in 26:12.2, an average of 5:16.3 per mile and enough to claim the individual title by almost four seconds.

Messiah captured the team title, but the Bears defeated a pair of regionally ranked programs in Lebanon Valley (6th in the Mid-Atlantic) and Misericordia (7th in the Mid-Atlantic).

Marcos Maciel placed 8th in 27:11.9, while Paul Faggioli was 10th with a clocking of 27:16.4.

Andy Shute finished in 23rd place with a time of 27:46.0, and Jesse Wun took 32nd at 28:21.0. Christian Rosado (36th; 28:31.2) and Brandon Slaboda (39th; 28:32.5) were close behind Wun as the Bears put all of their top seven runners inside the first 40 finishers.

Tucker McGrath clocked a time of 28:58.7, with Henry Wilt not far behind at 29:05.2.
