Men's Tennis wins home finale over Stevenson, 8-1

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's tennis team won its home finale on Saturday, defeating Stevenson by an 8-1 score.

The Bears started the day by taking all three doubles matches as senior Bennett MacLaughlin (Gaithersburg, Md./Bullis School) and freshman Sean Kelley (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) defeated Ted Cooke and Kevin Stamm, 8-3 at number one flight. At number two flight, junior Kevin Dean (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) and freshman Nick Rall (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) defeated Shawn Hellman and Nick Dunlap, 8-3.

At number three flight, senior Josh Hollaman (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell) and senior Jason Zerbe (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) defeated Shawn Kelley and Scott Woodburn.

In singles play, MacLaughlin defeated Cooke at number one flight, 6-4, 6-3, followed by Dean defeating Stamm at number two flight, 6-2, 6-2.

At number three flight, freshman Chris Wyshock (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) defeated Shawn Kelley, 6-4, 6-4. At number five flight, Hollaman defeated Dunlap, 6-2, 6-0, followed by Rall defeating Woodburn at number six flight, 6-1, 6-2.
