Five Goals Lift Men's Soccer to First Win, 5-1

ROSEMONT, Pa.- In the pouring rain, the Ursinus men's soccer team won their first game of the season with an offensive explosion, beating Rosemont 5-1 Saturday afternoon.

Ursinus scored the most goals in a single game since 2012 when they defeated Gwynedd-Mercy 5-0.

The Bears will Improve to 1-3-1 after going 1-1-1 on their three game road stretch.

Sophomore Ryan Molyneaux knocked in two goals on 6 shots, his first multi-goal game of his career. Also scoring his first multi-goal game in his career was sophomore Wyatt Powell with two goals and one assist.

Powell opened up the game with a goal in the 6th minute by drilling the ball into upper left corner. In the 24th minute the Ravens tied the game with a goal from Luis Castillo off a rebound in front of the goal.   The Bears would take the lead back right before half time with a goal from Molyneaux in the 41st minute from a rebounded shot off the keeper.

In the second half the bears took control with three goals first coming in the 48th minute from Molyneuax.  The Bears kept momentum with another goal from Powell in the 68th minute from a cross that was placed into the left side of the net.  Finally in the72nd minute Jamie Harper got in on the action with a goal cross into the middle of the box.

The Bears finish their road stint and return home against Immaculata Wednesday night.
