PHILADELPHIA – Ursinus Men's Lacrosse junior Tyler Neal was selected to the PhillySIDA Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Team on Tuesday afternoon.

The Academic All-Area Team, voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metro area, requires a student-athlete to be in their second year at the school and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better.

The accolade adds to an already impressive list of postseason honors for Neal following a career-best 2022 campaign. Neal earned All-American Honorable Mention honors from United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) in addition to garnering All-Centennial Conference first team honors. His strong work in the classroom as an economics major earned him spots on the Academic All-Centennial team and Centennial Conference Honor Roll.

Neal paced the team with 62 points behind 36 goals and 26 assists in his first non-shortened season at Ursinus. He ranked sixth in the Centennial Conference for all three of those statistical categories and ranked third in total shots with 140. Neal helped lead the Bears to an appearance in the Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament as well.

Neal is the first Bears men's lacrosse player since Hakan Atillasoy in 2019 to be named to team.
