LANCASTER, Pa. – After a pair of standout all-around performances, Ursinus men's basketball senior Ryan Hughes was named the Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the Conference on Tuesday morning.

Hughes did a little bit of everything for the Bears in two Centennial Conference wins last week. He averaged 19.0 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game, and 7.5 assists per game. Hughes posted double-doubles in both games and got it done at the free throw line by going 7-of-10 from the charity stripe.

He opened the week with 16 points, a career-high 10 assists, and grabbed seven rebounds in the Bears 77-71 win over Muhlenberg last Tuesday night. Hughes followed that with his highest point total of the season thus far as he registered 22 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists in an 84-79 triumph over McDaniel on Saturday afternoon.

The leading scorer in the Centennial Conference in the 2019-20 season, Hughes is once again pacing the Ursinus offense at 17.5 points per game which is currently good for third-best in the conference. Hughes also ranks third in the Centennial with eight rebounds per game and has recorded double-doubles in four of the six contests for the Bears this season. This is the first weekly conference award for any Bears men's basketball player this season, and the second career Centennial accolade for Hughes in his collegiate career after earning his first in November 2019.

The Bears will return to action tonight, December 7th as they will host FDU-Florham in non-conference action at 7:30 p.m.
