Men's Basketball rally falls short at Hopkins, 65-60

BALTIMORE, Md. -  Johns Hopkins senior forward Tim McCarty scored a game-high 25 points as the Blue Jays (14-9, 10-6 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (8-15, 7-9 Centennial) 65-60 on Saturday afternoon in men's basketball action.

Ursinus was led by 18 points from junior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and 13 points from junior guard Matt Donahue (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity).

Ursinus quickly fell into 12-0 hole to start the game, but was able to battle back within two at 27-25 wih 4:06 left on a three-pointer by Donahue.

Trailing by six at intermission, Ursinus would only get to within one at 55-54 with 1:34 left. A three-pointer by McCarty on Hopkins' next possession gave the Blue Jays a four-point lead at 58-54 and the Bears would not get any closer.

Ursinus sophomore guard Pat Vasturia (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) had eight rebounds, while Ward and freshman forward Jermaine Kamara (Cork, Ireland) each had six.
