WESTMINSTER, Md. – Ursinus' sophomore midfielder Stephanie Cooper (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) scored two goals, both in the first 15 minutes of the game, as Ursinus (5-2, 3-1 Centennial) doubled up McDaniel (4-4, 1-2 Centennial) 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in field hockey action.
Cooper scored at 9:31 and 14:14 for Ursinus, while sophomore forward Devin Brakel (West Windsor, N.J. / West Windsor Plainsboro North) and sophomore defender Megan Keenan (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) each added goals. Sophomore midfielder Jordan Miller (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) had two assists, while junior defender Nora Kornfeld (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) had an assist for Ursinus.
McDaniel got goals from Sara Reynolds and Julie Little.
Cooper scored at 9:41 on an assist from Miller, followed by the two repeating the connection at 14:44 for the 2-0 lead. Reynolds would score at 21:36 on an assist from Danielle DeColli, followed by Brakel scoring at 27:42.
Keenan scored at 52:03 on an assist from Kornfeld, with Little scoring at 56:58 on a fast break.
Ursinus outshot the Green Terror 18-11 and had a 17-7 advantage in corners.
Sophomore goalkeeper Danielle DeSpirito (Mountain Top, Pa. / Crestwood) had three saves for the Bears, while Miller had a defensive save.
Ursinus plays Haverford Wednesday.
