Moravian Tops Ursinus to Finish Knights Invitational

ASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team defeated Ursinus College, 3-0, Saturday morning to finish a weekend trip to the Knights Invitational at Neumann University.

How It Happened – Cabrini Match

  • The squads would play three sets and finish the contest separated by just seven points overall
  • The Cavaliers would take the first set 26-24 and then rally past Moravian in the second set with a 25-23 win. Cabrini also captured the third set for a 25-22 victory

How It Happened – Widener Match

  • The Pride won the opening set 25-19, and they would capture the second and third sets by identical 25-22 scores 

How It Happened – Ursinus Match

  • Moravian opened the contest with a 25-18 win in the first set. The Blue and Grey had a 25-20 victory in the second game and then took the third set 25-16 for the overall victory
  • Senior outside hitter Kirah Dreisbach was named to the All-Tournament Team, her third tournament honor of the season 

Inside the Numbers

  • Dreisbach finished the weekend with 16 kills, 28 digs and four service aces while senior outside hitter Sela Herber contributed 24 kills, 26 digs, five service aces and a pair of blocks
  • Freshman middle blocker Jenna Deegan recorded 19 kills and eight blocks in the three matches for the Hounds while senior middle blocker Renee Mapa had 18 kills and eight blocks
  • Freshman right side hitter Makenzie Krasley contributed eight kills, nine digs and five blocks during the tournament while junior setter Natalia Matos had 70 assists, 21 digs, four blocks and four service aces
  • Junior defensive specialist Gabby Mancini had a team-high 33 digs over the weekend to go with four service aces and four assists while freshman defensive specialist Kat DeYesso had six digs and two service aces and sophomore defensive specialist Allie Ludlow had 15 digs for the weekend
