Centennial Announces Return to Regular Schedule

Centennial Announces Return to Regular Schedule

The Centennial Conference has announced that its member schools can plan for a return to a traditional athletic year, beginning in the fall of 2021.

The Centennial Conference is pleased to announce that, under the current circumstances, we anticipate a regular schedule of athletic competition and championships for academic year 2021-22. With guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the NCAA Sports Science Institute, and the American College Health Association, the Conference and individual member schools are preparing protocols focused on the health, safety and well being of our student-athletes, coaches, spectators, officials and campus communities. These protocols may be subject to change as external and internal circumstances evolve.

We recognize the challenges experienced by many over the past year; the Centennial Conference is excited to move forward with optimism as we look forward to a full return to competition!

Last year, the Bears' fall and winter teams had their seasons canceled, while spring sports competed in a shortened, conference-only campaign. Friday's announcement opens the prospect of a return to complete seasons.

Ursinus is slated to open the fall on Wednesday, September 1. Women's soccer takes on Eastern in the Bears' first home contest of the year, while cross country (at Johns Hopkins), field hockey (at Rowan), men's soccer (at Stockton), and volleyball (at Rutgers-Camden) start on the road. The football team kicks off the 2021 campaign with a Friday night special against Alvernia on Patterson Field.

Complete fall schedules are being finalized and will be posted on the athletics website next week.
