Conhoff Stars in Women's XC Trip to Ohio

OBERLIN, Ohio – Rachel Conhoff turned in another sensational performance with a top-five individual finish to headline the Ursinus College women's cross country team's efforts at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday.

Heading to Ohio to compete against some of the best runners from a range of regions, Conhoff landed fifth overall in a field of nearly 250. Her time of 23:30.5 was just off her personal best set last time out at the Paul Short Run.

Conhoff's strong effort helped the Bears to place 11th in the team standings, cracking the top half of the 25-program field.

This was the second top-10 placement of the year for Conhoff, who finished seventh among over 200 entrants at the Osprey Invitational.

The Bears' next three finishers each posted a new collegiate best. Lauren Ferguson placed 57th with a 24:57.0, which was 23 seconds clear of her previous standard. Holly Chambers established a new PR by almost 20 seconds with a 25:48.1 (89th overall), and Mary Zukus cleared her former mark by more than a minute at 26:17.2 to land just outside the top-100.

Katherine Moore was next across with a 26:23.8, while Alexandra West notched a PR of her own with a time of 26:38.3. Bianca Joseph and Alyson Manley were close behind West at 26:52 and were followed by Meredith Steele (27:06.2) and Jenna Lozzi (28:13.4).

Saturday's meet marked the final tune-up for the Centennial Conference championship, which takes center stage November 2 at Gettysburg.
