WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's track and field team racked up a bevy of new personal bests at West Chester's Bill Butler Invitational on Saturday.

The Bears' new personal records came in a wide array of events, starting with the sprints. Sophomore Gianna Speranza led the way with a 13.23 in the 100-meter dash, with sophomore Molly Rodebaugh (13.60) and freshman Rosie Cuomo (14.37) each notching new collegiate bests.

Rodebaugh added another PR to her ledger in the 200 (28.32), where first-year Kate Hunt crossed the line in 27.42.

Cuomo also logged a second personal best, this one coming in the 400 (1:09.17).

Senior Riley Engel shattered her previous standard by seven seconds in the 1500 meters, where her mark of 5:01.59 was the first of three new personal records; sophomore Bianca Joseph (5:49.84) and freshman Amanda Choi (5:55.04) also posted the top time of their career.

In the field, senior Morgan Cope finished just shy of a career best with a 10-6.00 in the pole vault, placing fifth overall. Senior Caroline Buckley grabbed seventh place in the long jump with a 15-10.50.

First-year Zenya Yanoff recorded a pair of new personal records in throwing events. The rookie tallied a huge PR with a heave of 109-8 in the hammer throw and added another in the javelin (90-11).

Junior Sophie Simoes led the Bears in the discus (106-2, three inches off her PR), hammer (111-10), and shot put (35-10.50). Sophomore Vikki Rueda-Juarez was second on the team in all three events, posting a 93-10 in the discus, a 92-3 in the javelin, and a 32-10.75 in the shot put.

Freshman Kamilyah Nazih's toss of 84-3 in the discus was a new career high, and she just missed a PR with a 32-3 in the shot put.

The Bears return to action on Wednesday with the Mid-Week Twilight Meet at Gwynedd Mercy.
