Women's Tennis Upended at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 Centennial Conference defeat at Haverford on Wednesday.

The Fords improved to 4-1 in conference play (6-5 overall), while the Bears fell to 2-4 in the league and 10-5 overall.

Ursinus was competitive on several courts. Juniors Aileen Bevard and Ashley Nguyen took Greta Koch and Abby Payson down to the wire at first doubles, ultimately bowing to the Fords' top duo in an 8-6 decision.

Sophomore Caitlyn Sorelle gave Koch a battle at number two singles before falling by a 6-2, 7-5 score. Senior Christine Palazzolo dropped a close first set to Jessica Liu, who went on to claim their sixth singles match 6-4, 6-1.

The women's tennis team will honor Palazzolo and Robin Alsher as part of Senior Day festivities before hosting McDaniel in a CC contest on Saturday.
