Chen Amazes for Women's Golf

POTTSTOWN, Pa. - Kaylin Chen's stunning performance was the highlight as the Ursinus College women's golf team hosted its annual fall invitational at Raven's Claw Golf Club.

Chen came out of nowhere to shoot a 7-over 78, placing third in a field of 31. The rookie's remarkable showing was the best score by an Ursinus golfer since Emily McGarrigle's 77 at the Revolutionary Classic in the fall of 2017.

Chen was consistent throughout, only posting two scores above bogey and making birdie on both the par-4 fourth hole and the par-5 seventh. She finished behind only Jefferson's Ammala Moua (74) and Alvernia's McKylin Boreman (77).

Following her season-opening 79 at the McDaniel Invitational, Jessica Lamarca came up with an 83 on Tuesday. She struggled somewhat to a 45 on the front-nine but rebounded in a big way on the back, notching a birdie on the par-4 13th hole and four pars.

Carolyn DeCicco also enjoyed a career day, registering a personal-best 102. She had seven bogeys and a par on the par-3 17th.

Annalyse Dickinson shot 110 for the afternoon, which included pars on the third, eighth, and ninth holes.

Rebecca Chernoff (131) and Bailey Hann (135) also took to the course for the Bears. Hann scored par on the par-3 third hole.

The Bears are back on Saturday to play in the Dickinson Invitational at Carlisle Barracks.
