Women's Golf Makes Big Strides in Final CC Tune-up

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's golf team made tremendous strides on the second and final day of the Gettysburg Invitational on Sunday, dropping 31 strokes off their first-round tally as all four of its entrants went lower than the previous day in the Bears' final tune-up for the Centennial Conference championship.

Senior Emily McGarrigle finished in a tie for eighth place with a 36-hole mark of 165, following Saturday's 83 with an 82 on Sunday at Hanover Country Club. It marked the sixth top-10 finish of the season for McGarrigle, who wound up one shot shy of her season low but did manager her best two-day score of the year.

Freshman Jessica Lamarca registered a career-best 96 on Saturday and did herself one better the next day, posting a 95 to earn a new personal record for two-day score (171).

Sophomore Addisen Miller shaved 16 strokes off her day one tally to card a 113 on Sunday, tied for her third-best round of the season.

Senior Alissa DiGuglielmo finished with a 155, clearing her Saturday score by 13 strokes.

The Bears now have two weeks to prepare for the conference tournament, which will be held April 27 and 28 at Conestoga Country Club in Lancaster.
