Women's Golf Hosts Spring Opener

RISING SUN, Md. – Emily McGarrigle posted another top-10 individual finish as the Ursinus College women's tennis team hosted the spring Revolutionary Collegiate Classic at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club.

McGarrigle landed in a tie for 9th among 34 golfers with a 36-hole tally of 175. She shot 86 on Saturday, battling chilly temperatures and strong winds to fire the third-best score of the first round, before closing with an 89 on Sunday.

Jefferson University cruised to the team title with a score of 678, including a 321 on the second day of competition. The Rams' Kinley Lingenfelter won the individual title by nine strokes with a two-day 156 (83-73).

Freshman Jessica Lamarca was the second-best golfer of the weekend for Ursinus, shooting 101 in the first round and 102 in the second to place 22nd with a 203. Sophomore Addisen Miller tallied a two-day 217 (104-113).

Freshman Carolyn DeCicco finished with a score of 235 (116-119), with juniors Suzanne Angermeier (305) and Alissa DiGuglielmo (322) also competing for the Bears.

The Bears get back to the links next Sunday with a dual match against Jefferson at ACE Club.
