Konstanzer, Stephens Named All-CC

2020 All-CC Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College women's basketball stars Lydia Konstanzer and Aliyah Stephens earned prominent places on the All-Centennial Conference team, released Wednesday morning by the league office.

Konstanzer was named to the All-CC first team for the second straight season, while Stephens was voted the league's defensive player of the year in addition to a second consecutive second-team nomination.

Konstanzer, who garnered rookie of the year honors in 2017 before collecting second-team laurels as a sophomore, capped her standout career with another dominating campaign. The Bears' co-captain averaged 17.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, racking up 16 double-doubles. She led the CC in steals (60) and defensive rebounds while ranking second in rebounds per game and total field goals (175); third in blocks (41); fourth in points per game and field-goal percentage (46.8); and fifth in free throws made (74).

Konstanzer ripped off a stretch of 10 consecutive double-doubles towards the end of the year, elevating her overall total to 11th in Division III. A second team All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection in 2019, she finished her remarkable career second in program history in both points (1,624) and rebounds (956).

Stephens is the first Ursinus player to receive the conference's top defensive award, which was instituted three years ago. A terror on both ends of the floor, the junior ranked fifth in the conference in steals (50) and blocks (33). Offensively, she led the CC in free throws made (125) while ranking third in scoring at 17.2 points per game.

Stephens scored in double figures in all but one game, which came when she played just 12 minutes in a blowout win over Bryn Mawr. She surpassed 1,000 career points late in the season and will enter her senior year just four rebounds shy of 400.

Additionally, senior Francesca Bogiatzis was named to the all-sportsmanship team. Bogiatzis started 12 games in her final campaign, averaging 1.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest.
