Brennan Named to PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Softball Team

PHILADELPHIA – Ursinus softball graduate Mackenzie Brennan was selected to the PhillySIDA Softball Academic All-Area Team on Thursday afternoon.

 

 

 

 The Academic All-Area Team, voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metro area, requires a student-athlete to be in their second year at the school and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better.

 

 

 

Brennan has compiled a wide list of postseason accolades after putting a bow on her decorated career at Ursinus. She was named to the coSIDA Academic All-District Softball Team becoming the first Bear to earn the accolade in 12 years. Brennan earned All-Centennial Conference first team honors for the second-straight season and third overall All-Centennial accolade for her career. Brennan was equally as strong in the classroom as Health and Exercise Physiology major by also earning placement on the Academic All-Centennial team and Centennial Conference Honor Roll.

 

 

 

Brennan led the team with a .403 batting average as the Bears leadoff hitter and showcased her speed by leading the Centennial Conference with 22 stolen bases and four triples. She ranked third in the conference with 14 doubles, fourth with 48 hits, fifth with 29 runs scored, and sixth in slugging percentage at .588. Brennan recorded her 100th career hit in the 2022 season and posted 17-multi hit contests which included tallying eight-straight multi-hit games from March 29th to April 12th.

 

 

Brennan is the first Bears softball player in recent memory to be named to team.
