McDaid Leads Men's XC at D2/D3 Challenge

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – James McDaid stood out as one of the top competitors from Division III as the Ursinus College men's cross country team finished ninth at the Division II/III Challenge hosted by Kutztown University.

McDaid led the Bears for the second straight meet, placing 13th with a mark of 27:03. He was second among Division III entrants, behind only Salisbury's Conner Masteran in 26:54.4.

Sophomore John Haase rounded out the top 50 individuals with a clocking of 29:25.5. Classmate Kyle Berardi finished the 8-kilometer course in 29:39.7 (56th), just ahead of freshman Ed Martinez (29:41.1, 58th).

Sophomore John DeLia (29:51.0) and junior Logan Mazullo (29:51.7) were within less than a second of each other, and freshman Marcos Maciel completed Ursinus' top seven with a 30:31.1.

Senior Andrew Voyack finished in 30:44.3 and was followed by classmate Jonathan Cope (31:06.8) and sophomore Dylan Geissinger-Tuttle (34:25.1).

The Bears have two weeks off before their next meet, the annual Paul Short Run at Lehigh University scheduled for September 29.
