HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team picked up two individual wins and several personal bests in a solid performance at Haverford's Keogh Invitational on Saturday, the Bears' final tune-up before the Centennial Conference indoor championships.
Octavious Carter won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.06 seconds, while Daniel Maloney took first in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.60 seconds. Aviv Hogan Appell was .01 seconds off his PR with a 7.24 in the 60, where Max Gadsden did manage a new career best at 7.54.
Pat Patterson-Zuber turned in an impressive debut in the shot put, putting up a heave of 41-8.50 to place second and move into sixth on the Centennial Conference performance list. Isaiah Battle also notched a season best at 38-2.75.
Daniel Tabor was runner-up in the triple jump with a personal-best 39-10.75, good for 10th in the conference. Tabor also finished third in the 200 with a PR 24.26.
Zach Crebbin took third in the long jump (6.23 meters).
Ed Martinez (2:02.54) and Brandon Slaboda (2:05.96) each seized a new PR in the 800, while Steve Wilkins (4:54.30) and Nate Raffier (5:31.78) did so in the mile.
