Men's T&F Shines Bright at Twilight Meet

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team shined bright under the lights at Gwynedd Mercy's annual Mid-Week Twilight Meet, racking up three event victories and ascending further up the Centennial Conference performance list in a range of categories.

Reilly and Carter engaged in a thrilling duel for top prize in the 100-meter dash, as Reilly sprinted to a time of 11.13, the Bears' best of the season and .04 seconds ahead of Carter. The young duo's times rank second and third, respectively, in the CC this season. Junior Austin Bittenbender jumped up to fourth in the conference with a career-best 11.32.

Junior James McDaid took first place in the 5000 meters, vaulting into the top-10 in the CC with a personal-best 15:34.01. Freshmen Marcos Maciel (15:56.81), Edward Martinez (15:59.82), Jesse Wun (16:39.53), Colin McCarty (17:05.34); and Caleb Torres (17:06.71) joined sophomore Kyle Berardi (16:01.01) in notching their own collegiate bests.

Junior Craig Lauer won the steeplechase in his season debut (10:48.20).

Freshman Zach Crebbin was third in the high jump (6-2.75) and fifth in the long jump (20-3.00). Freshman Tyree Williams-Jackson (18-11.25) and junior Brody Johnson (18-8.00) earned new personal bests.

Freshman Brandon Slaboda's 1:02.55 in the 400-meter hurdles was good for a personal best and eighth on the conference charts.

Freshman Nate Raffier posted a big PR in the 1500 (4:56.59), lowering his previous best by almost eight seconds.

Sophomore Griffin McMann headlined the field athletes as runner-up of the shot put (45-10.50), where freshman Nick Galbraith was seventh (38-9.50) and sophomore George Psaradakis (36-9.50) took 10th.

McMann placed fourth in the discus (129-6.00), and Galbraith achieved a PR of 111-6.00 to move into eighth place in the CC.

Galbraith now ranks fourth in the hammer throw after another personal record in the hammer (120-3.00).

The men's track and field team travels to Salisbury to compete in the Eastern Shore Challenge on Saturday.
