CHESTER, Pa. – A few Ursinus College track and field competitors secured new personal bests on the first day of Widener's Danny Curran Invitational, which opened Friday with a few distance and throwing events.

Junior Logan Mazullo posted a big PR in the 5000 meters, where his 15:57.43 was 25 seconds faster than his previous collegiate best. Senior Andrew Voyack dropped his personal record down by a wide margin, also knocking more than 25 seconds off his previous standard. Senior Daniel Powell ran a 16:23.47 in his first career 5k race.

Sophomore Griffin McMann uncorked a heave of 14.27 meters in the shot put, well clear of his 13.16-meter toss in the outdoor opener last week. Freshman Nick Galbraith (11.62 meters) and sophomore George Psaradakis (10.91 meters)

On the women's side, sophomore Vikki Rueda-Juarez notched a new outdoor personal best in the shot put, where her mark of 10.42 meters was just enough to outdistance junior Sophia Simoes' season-high 10.39 meters.

Senior Riley Engel finished just outside of scoring range in the 5000 meters, taking ninth place in a time of 19:30.54. Freshman Rachel Conhoff clocked a 20:47.21 in her 5k debut, with fellow rookie Lauren Ferguson trimming more than 10 seconds from her personal best with a 20:57.74.
