Men's Track and Field heads to Boston

BOSTON, Mass. -  The Ursinus College men's track and field team braved the heavy snow in Boston to compete at the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University this weekend.

While it was a non-scoring meet, the Bears turned in a lot of personal bests during the two-day event.

Evan Shea had a personal best in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.5, as he shaved .2 of a second off his previous best time and is now within striking distance of the school record. He later came back to run a personal best in the 200 with a time of 23.2

In the 200, Darius Jones led the way with a 22.9, while Skyler McCormick had a 23.4, as did Tony Sierzega. Miles Perkins ran a 23.5 in the event. With the exception of McCormick (who was less than .01 seconds off his personal best), the Ursinus runners in the 200 set personal bests.

In the 400, Richard Schulz set an indoor personal record at 51.4, while Jones had a season-best 51.7. McCormick had a 51.4 (personal best – indoors), with Sierzega had a 52.5 and Perkins had a 52.1, all personal bests.

Drew Mackin ran a 1:58 in the 800, just one second off his personal best.

In the 60 hurdles, Erich Keyser had a season-best 9.2

Finally, Adam Myers had a 42-04 in the shot put, which was just off his collegiate best.
