LANCASTER, Pa. – After a strong week in Florida, Ursinus Men's Tennis sophomore Lars Jespersen was named the Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

Playing out of the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, Jespersen went 2-1 in singles matches and 3-0 at doubles. His play helped the Bears go 2-1 as a team down in Florida. He bested Brayden Kopp of Wittenberg 0-6, 6-3, 10-3 on Monday morning and outlasted Kopp and John Devito 8-6 in doubles. He followed that with an 8-3 doubles win against Otterbein's Jake McDivitt and Tom Ohler on Tuesday morning. Jespersen closed the week with a 6-2, 7-5 singles win against his Ohio Wesleyan's Jose Mancilla on Thursday and earned an 8-5 win in doubles over Mancilla and Alex Riess.

A Centennial Conference honorable mention selection from a year ago, Jespersen holds a 3-2 record in singles during 2021-22 season team matches and a 4-1 mark in doubles play. All his matches have been from the No. 1 position and two of his three victories have been in straight-sets.
