Carkhuff Breaks 50 Free School Record.

LANCASTER, PA. - The Ursinus College Men's Swimming team enjoyed a successful day resulting in record breaking finishes and currently sit in 4th place after day two of the Conference Championships.  

Senior Ryan Carkhuff shattered the school record in the 50-yard freestyle event. In the prelims Carkhuff finished with a time of 20.36, beating his previous best of 20.48. In the finals, Carkhuff finished in second place and rewrote the record books with a time of 20.29. Teammate Stephen Lyons finished 6th and recorded a personal best with a time of 20.98.  

The Bears earned a fifth-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:26.90. The quartet of Jonah Kasznay, Matt Snyder, Jan Perez-Bonilla and Carkhuff combined for a time 6 seconds faster than their seed time. Two Bears swimmers earned career personal best in the leadoff spot of the 400 medley relay. Kasznay tallied a time of 52.46 in the 100 back, while junior Ryan Schreffler tallied a time of 52.64. 

After day two, the Bears currently sit in fourth place with 151 team points. The Bears will dive back into the pool tomorrow morning, and will look to gain positioning over the rest of the group. Tomorrow's events are listed in order below.
