GETTYSBURG, PA. - The Ursinus College men's swimming team collected a third-place finish at the Gettysburg Invitational tallying 478 team points. Senior Ryan Carkhuff headlined the invitational breaking two school records in the 50-Yard Freestyle (20.48) and 100-Yard Freestyle (45.41) events. 

Carkhuff totaled three first place finishes including both the 50 and 100-Yard Freestyle event and the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Dylan Schreffler, Stephen Lyons, Jonah Kasznay, and Carkhuff placed first in the 200-yard relay with a time of 1:24.23.  

Kasznay picked up an individual win in the 400-yard IM, stopping the timer at 4:08.30 for a first-place finish on Saturday. He also played part on several Bears relays, teaming up with Lyons, Jan Perez-BonillaResults and Carkhuff for a third-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Kasznay also recorded a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:57.42 

Stephen Lyons recorded two top-five finishes over the weekend, recording third in the 100-yard freestyle and fifth place in the 50-yard freestyle event. Lyons also took part in the 200 and 400-yard Medley Relay where the Bears finished fourth.  

The Bears will continue training over the holiday season before returning to action on Friday, Jan.14 with a non-conference meet with Cabrini.
