Swimming Racks up Season Bests at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus College swimming teams sent a limited contingent to the Swarthmore Invitational and came home with a huge haul of season bests in the final tune-up for the Centennial Conference championships.

Senior Thomas Bantley and freshman Reid Harpel each picked up a new PR for the men's team, highlighting a successful afternoon in every Bear swimmer tallied at least one top season time. Bantley's personal best came in the 200 back (2:05.88), while Harpel notched his in the 200 fly (2:04.17).

Junior Samuel Sjosten led a caravan of Bears in the 50 free with a mark of 23.01, while Harpel clocked a 23.38 . Junior Thomas Rogers (24.15) and Bantley (24.39) also competed. Bantley finished the 500 free in 5:00.61.

Sjosten tallied a time of 57.63 in the 100 back and had a 2:05.94 in the 200 IM, while Harpel (54.44) and Rogers (55.57) took part in the 100 fly.

Bantley, Sjosten, Rogers, and Harpel completed the mixed 200 medley relay in 1:46.95.

For the women, junior Charlotte Bernot swam the 50 free (25.72) and 100 free (56.85).
