Rondeau Reels in Rookie Reward

Division III All-Freshman Team

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus College men's lacrosse standout Chase Rondeau was honored on the Inside Lacrosse Division III All-Freshman Team.

Rondeau was one of only three defensemen recognized by the national outlet, which previously named senior attack Bobby McClure, senior defenseman Parker Wolf, and junior attack Hakan Atillasoy to its Media All-America Team.

A product of local powerhouse La Salle College High School, Rondeau stepped right into a starting role and established himself as a premier talent right from the start. The rookie equaled Wolf for the team lead with 12 caused turnovers and collected 17 ground balls, tied for fourth on the squad. Rondeau racked up three caused turnovers in three of the final four games, and even scored a goal in a 13-12 season-opening thriller over Stevenson.

Per Inside Lacrosse: Rondeau is a fantastic athlete, which allows him to be a force on ball as a cover. Additionally he meshed well with the off-ball team scheme and communicated well with the rest of the group. His future is certainly bright and as he continues to develop, Rondeau will certainly evolve into an All-America caliber defenseman.

The men's lacrosse team finished the 2020 season with a 7-0 overall record and perched at No. 6 in the USILA Division III poll, the highest national ranking in program history.
