Inside Lacrosse Preseason DIII All-America Release
Ursinus College's Gerard Brown and Peter DeSimone have been pegged as preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse.
Brown, a senior midfielder, and DeSimone, a junior attack, each received honorable mention in anticipation of another prolific campaign at the head of the Bears' offense.
A two-time first team All-Centennial Conference selection, Brown collected honorable mention All-America recognition from USILA after ranking second in the CC with 28 assists, giving him 82 for his career and putting him within 20 of the all-time record at Ursinus. Brown, who added 17 goals for a total of 45 points, needs 52 points to match Anthony Tori '07 for the program standard.
DeSimone led the Bears and was fourth in the CC with 38 goals – one shy of the single-season school record – to earn second team all-conference honors for the second year in arrow. He also handed out nine assists for a team-leading 47 points and matched the team high with four man-up goals. The 2016 CC Rookie of the Year, DeSimone is just ten points shy of 100 for his career.
The selections of Brown and DeSimone give Ursinus a preseason All-American for the third consecutive year. Brown was also a preseason All-American in 2017.
The men's lacrosse team opens its season at Frostburg State on Saturday, February 17.
