Pick’s 74 Leads Bears to 6th Place Finish at the Moravian Invitational

 NEW TRIPOLI, PA. - The Ursinus College men's golf team capped off a successful day at the Moravian University Invitational Wednesday afternoon, finishing in 6th place after shooting 333 as a team.  

The Bears had nine members competing at the Olde Homestead Golf Course, a par-72 course that stretches over 6,710 yards. Four Bears participated as Individuals and their scores were not counted in the overall team standings.  

The top six teams all finished within five strokes of each other, as Scranton won the team title after finishing with a 320 (+32). The host Moravian finished closely behind with a 322 (+34) and two teams tied for third place as Lebanon Valley and Rosemont finished their rounds with a 323 (+35). Penn St. Abington finished in fifth place, closing out their day with a 325 (+37). Ursinus was just behind the pack for a sixth-place finish, closing out their day with a 333.

This was the second lowest team total score for the Bears after shooting a 315 back on September 21st at the Raven's Claw Golf Club in Pottstown.  

Jordan Pick led the Bears with a second-place finish after shooting a 74 (+2). Pick had an outstanding day on the course, collecting one birdie and 15 pars. After starting on hole 10 and recording a bogey and a double bogey, the junior hit six straight pars. After a birdie on 18, Pick closed out the front nine with nine straight pars.  

Senior Peyton Vostenak was dialed in, finishing just behind Pick with a tied for ninth-place finish after shooting a 89. Vostenak's day was highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 16th.

Sophomore Nick Troha played as an individual recording birdies on the par-4 2nd and par-3 17th hole and signed for an 84. Just behind teammates Billy Cardino and Luke Godzieba each shot an 85 for a T-30th finish.  

Kyle Hoke and T.J. Stanton each finished T-41st as they signed for an 89 (+17). Senior John Murray earned two pars and a birdie on his afternoon and signed for a 90 (+18).  

The Bears will return to action on Friday as they travel to Lakewood, N.J. for the Arcadia Invitational this weekend.
