Men's Golf Takes Third at Fall Invite

POTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's golf team came close to winning its fall invitational on Tuesday as the Gold squad came up just a few strokes short in third place at Raven's Claw Golf Club.

The Bears carried a pair of teams in their second tournament of the season, with the gold side tallying a 326 to land five shots behind Cabrini, which edged Albright by one to claim team title honors.

Kyle Quagliero led the way with a 76 for Ursinus, enough to place third overall in a field of 50 golfers. Quagliero was red-hot on the back nine, carding an even-par 36 behind back-to-back birdies on the par-5 first and par-4 second holes. He also made birdie on the par-5 10th among eight pars.

Ryan Hodgdon was right on Quagliero's heels with a 77 to finish in a tie for fourth. He had birdies on the par-3 sixth and par-5 seventh holes, carding 38 on the front nine and 39 on the back.

Jordan Pick was 10th overall with an 81, which included a birdie on the par-4 12th hole and six pars. Fellow rookie T.J. Stanton finished with a 92, posting seven pars, and John Murray rounded out the Gold squad with an even 100.

Brian Barrett topped the Black team with an 83 and was the third Ursinus golfer to record consecutive birdies, his coming on the seventh and eighth holes in a 39-stroke front nine effort. Daniel Schlitt had seven pars on the way to an 85.

Jack Bagnell landed on 91 for the Bears, with seven pars, and Kai Toomey finished with a 92. Ryan Moliken had four pars to finish with a 109. Liam Bradley, playing as an individual, shot 138.

Ursinus returns to the course on September 23 with a trip to the Williamsport C.C. Collegiate Invitational.
