Hodgdon Wins First Career Title

BLUE BELL, Pa. – Ryan Hodgdon captured his first career individual title to lead the Ursinus College men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the Arcadia Invitational in its fall finale on Monday.

Hodgdon fired a 76 at Cedarbrook Country Club, edging Jack Doherty of Stevens by one stroke to collect his first collegiate hardware.

Freshman Kyle Quagliero tied for third overall with a 78 as the Bears notched a team score of 331 to land behind only Stevens' 316.

Hodgdon had come close to winning previously in his career, most notably at last year's Revolutionary Collegiate Classic in the fall. In that tournament, he carded back-to-back rounds of 73 to finish one stroke off the top of the leaderboard.

Quagliero shot under 80 for the eighth time in ten rounds this fall; he wound up one shot back of Doherty in second.

Junior Brian Barrett finished with an 87 for the Bears, while classmates Daniel Schlitt and Jack Bagnell shot 90 and 92, respectively.
