ELKTON, Md. – Ryan Hodgdon finished one shot out of the lead to headline the Ursinus College men's golf team's showing at the two-day Revolutionary Collegiate Classic at Patriots Glen National Golf Club.

Hodgdon fired matching 73's on Saturday and Sunday to card a 146, just one stroke off the pace set by Goucher's Robert Mikse (70-75). The sophomore tied his collegiate best on both days of the annual weekend event.

Ursinus finished third in a field of six complete squads with a cumulative 633 (311-322). Goucher was the team champion at 606, followed closely by Stevens (613).

The Bears' first-round score of 311 was their best of the season.

Hodgdon was on fire on Saturday, recording four birdies on the front nine and five overall. He was one under par on the 2^nd and 3^rd holes, both par-4s, and also netted birdies on the par-5 6^th and 9^th and the par-4 12^th. He had three birdies and an eagle on Sunday, registering a 3 on the par-5 17^th and backing it up with a birdie on the 18^th.

Sophomore Brian Barrett continued his strong campaign by placing eighth overall with a two-day 154 (76-78). Barrett, whose top score as a rookie was 80, now has three rounds below that threshold this season.

Barrett shot a 35 on the front nine on Saturday, making birdie on the 2^nd and 9^th holes. He was nearly as good Sunday, with birdies on the par-3 4^th and 16^th holes on the way to a 78.

Junior Noah Steiner landed in 17^th with a 164 (79-85). On Saturday, he made birdie on the par-3 13^th and par-4 15^th, and the par-4 18^th hole before making par on eight of the front nine holes on the second day of the tournament.

Senior Ryan Crawford collected a final tally of 169 (83-86) to finish in 20^th place. The lefty had a birdie on the par-5 9^th hole in addition to 11 pars for on Saturday, then came back with 12 more pars on the final day of competition.

Sophomore Jack Bagnell and junior Bennett Collins posted matching totals of 172 to tie for 21^st overall. Bagnell had an 87 on Saturday before coming back with an 85 on Sunday, including birdies on the 2^nd and 17^th holes. Collins, meanwhile, shot 86 on both days for his best rounds of the fall; he produced eight pars on the first day and another nine on the second.

Senior Max Schwartz signed for a two-day 179 (92-87) in his first action of the season. Schwartz fired an 87 on Sunday, which included a birdie on the par-5 6^th hole.

Senior Matthew Sherman finished at 193 (97-96), recording six rounds in the second round.

The men's golf team will compete at the Eastern Invitational on Monday.
