Men's Basketball downed by Shoremen, 87-70

CHESTERTOWN, Md. –Washington College (4-10, 3-4 Centennial) opened the game with 8-0 run over Ursinus and never lost the lead as they defeated the Bears 87-70 Tuesday night in men's basketball action in Delmarva.

The Bears (2-12, 0-7 Centennial) came within three points early in the second half making it 44-41, but could not take the lead.

Shoremen (4-10, 3-4 Centennial) forwards Tony Hawkins and Sean Flanigan both recorded a double doubles accounting for 30 points and 23 rebounds total. Washington also aided by John Weston scoring 22 points.

The Bears shot 43 percent from the field and had four players in double figures. Sophomore Malik Draper led Ursinus by shooting 50 percent from the field with a team-high 18 points and five rebounds while senior forward Ryan Adams contributed 12 points and eight rebounds.

Sophomore guard Trevor Norton had 12 points as well, while senior guard Jesse Krasna scored 11.

Ursinus hosts Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 3 p.m.
