Men's Basketball bounced by Roanoke, 80-66

SALEM, Va.  – Host Roanoke College got 40 points off of the bench as the Maroons (6-4) defeated Ursinus (2-9) 80-66 on Saturday afternoon in the title game of the 2014 Dick Leftwich V-Foundation Classic Championship game.

Ursinus, who trailed by only six at intermission (31-25), got 18 points from sophomore guard Trevor Norton and 12 points from senior guard Jesse Krasna.

Norton and senior forward Ryan Adams, who helped lead Ursinus to a win over William Peace yesterday, were named to the All-Classic team.

Roanoke got 18 points from Julian Ramirez and 15 points from the bench from John Fitchett. The Maroons led by as much as 18 points in the second half, using a 13-5 run midway through the second to pull away.

Ursinus had the chance to take the lead into halftime, as they trailed by only one at 26-25 with 2:33 left on a layup by sophomore guard Malik Draper.

Senior guard Pat Vasturia scored 11 points off the bench on the night.  Krasna also grabbed seven rebounds for the Bears.

Ursinus heads to Gettysburg on Wednesday, jumping back into conference play with a  7 p.m. tip against the Bullets.
