GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Host Gettysburg put four players in double
figures as the Bullets (11-9, 9-5 Centennial) defeated Ursinus
(13-8, 9-5 Centennial) 80-71 Sunday afternoon in men's basketball
play.
Kevin Kennedy scored a game-high 20, while Alex Zurn had 12.
For Ursinus, freshman forward Jon Ward (Allentown,
Pa./Parkland) had 18 points, with junior guard
Matt Hilton (Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown Area) added
in 12.
Senior guard Remy Cousart (Philadelphia, Pa./Holy
Ghost) hit two milestones in the game, as he scored his
1000th career point and dished out his 500 career assist
in the contest.
Ursinus' lone lead came on the opening basket, as Cousart scored 30
seconds in for a 2-0 lead. From there, Gettysburg outscored the
Bears 14-2 over the next 5:15 to take a ten-point lead at 14-4.
Ursinus got as close as two points in the first half, at 30-28 on a
pair of foul shots by Ward.
In the second half, Ursinus got to within one two times but could
not tie the score.
Gettysburg held a 30-27 lead on the glass, with Cousart picking up
six for the Bears.
